Dr C J Harrison

MB ChB PhD FRCGP

Dr Harrison joined the practice in 2004, having previously worked at a practice in Didsbury for 9 years. He enjoys all aspects of general practice. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education and Director of Assessment at Keele University Medical School. He normally works in the practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Dr J Ream

MB ChB FRCGP

Dr Ream graduated from Glasgow University in 1977. Following general practice training in Bollington and Handforth she worked part time until all of her three children were at school. She then joined Cornishway for over 12 years, before moving to Brooklands in 2005. Her main interest, apart from personalised patient care, is medical education. She has been involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate training in the practice, as well as previously holding an Associate Dean post for 3 years at UHSM. She is currently still an active examiner in the national GP exams run by the Royal College of GPs.

 

Dr A Evans

MB ChB MRCGP

Dr Alexandra Evans graduated from the University of Leicester in 2003. Alongside her General Practice training, she gained a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Family Planning and Sexual Health. She is available to fit contraceptive coils on Wednesday lunchtimes. She is also a trainer at the practice and is involved in the teaching of junior medical students at the practice. Outside of the practice she is involved in assessing examinations of medical students and end of year portfolio assessments for GP trainees. She is also involved in running teaching sessions for GP trainees. She works at the practice four days a week (excepting Thursdays).

 

 

Dr A Symcox

MB ChB MRCGP

Dr Symcox qualified in 1988 with post graduate qualifications in family planning and obstetrics. She has varied interests which include minor surgery, primary prevention and cardiovascular disease and womens and childrens health. She is available in the practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

 

Dr H Caulfield

BSc MB ChB MRCGP

Dr Heather Caulfield qualified from St Andrews and Manchester Medical School in 1995. She joined the practice in 2007.

Her special interests include: women's health, including family planning, postnatal care; child health, including Wednesday morning baby clinic.

She currently works Wednesday mornings providing family planning services (including IUD/IUS and Implanon/Nexplanon fitting) and baby clinic. Dr Caulfield also works Thursday mornings. 

 

 

Dr R Farrington

MB Chb MRCGP DTM&H


PGCert in Higher education 2016


SFHEA 2016


Dr Farrington qualified from University of Dundee in 1990.


Dr Farrington is a salaried GP at the practice covering Friday afternoon surgeries. For the rest of the week she works at the University of Manchester medical school teaching undergraduate medical students. Dr Farrington also works 1 day a week at the mental health trust in a project for refugees.

Dr J Vlies

MB ChB MRCGP

Dr Vlies qualified from Sheffield University in 2008. Alongside her General Practice training, she gained a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Women's Health.

Dr Vlies has a special interest in palliative care and women's health.

Dr Vlies works in the surgery on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
